In 2022, KAIST(Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) and NYU (New York University) formed a historic partnership, combining the distinctive strengths of both universities to drive advances in research and education, forge new industrial collaborations and investments, and lay the groundwork for a joint presence in New York City—KAIST’s first campus in the United States. The two institutions formally announced the partnership in September 2022 at ceremonies featuring the President of the Republic of Korea, His Excellency Yoon Suk-yeol, and New York City Mayor Eric Adams.
KAIST, one of the world’s most innovative and dynamic science and technology universities, and NYU, the world leader in global education and home to top schools and institutes including the Tandon School of Engineering, NYU Arts & Science, the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences, the Center for Data Science, the Grossman School of Medicine and NYU Langone Health, the School of Global Public Health, and NYU Abu Dhabi are uniquely placed to create new educational programs and research endeavors to meet an era of unprecedented global challenges.
