Course Registration Guide for the 2019 Spring Semester
2019 Spring semester course registration procedure and methods are as follows:
1. Registration period : Jan. 7. 2019(Mon) ~ Jan. 11(Fri), 2019
<1st period> From 12:30 to before 23:59 on Jan. 7(Mon) (Open enrollment without ceilings for all the courses)
※ Jan. 8(Tue) : No registration is possible
Final student lists for the courses will be announced before 12:00, Jan. 9(Wed)
▶ Students will be randomly selected for the courses that exceed their enrollment ceilings; final student lists for the courses will be announced.(on portal)
<2nd period> From 12:30 on Jan. 9(Wed) to before 23:59 on Jan. 11(Fri) (Students may register for the remaining courses on a first-come first-serve basis)

<2nd > From 12:30 on Jan. 9(Wed) to before 23:59 on Jan. 11(Fri) (Students may register for the remaining courses on a first-come first-serve basis)
4. Venues : Anywhere students use PC (not available on mobile equipment)
5. Registration procedure
1) Choose(Retrieve) classes from the lists

2) Web registration : http://portal.kaist.ac.kr ⇒ Academic System
6. Registration is open for all current students(Undergraduates, Master's and Ph.D. students), matriculating graduate students, and returning students(Undergraduates, Master's and Ph.D. Students expected to return to school 2019 Spring Semester)
7. Miscellaneous
A. Students included in the final lists (of the courses exceed their enrollment ceilings) can not cancel the courses during the registration period.
(However, during the Add/drop period, students may change or cancel their classes.)
B. Students must take required EFL courses within first FOUR (4) SEMESTERS after entering KAIST. After fourth semester, enrollment in EFL courses is NOT allowed during Spring/Fall semester.
C. Registration for elective general courses in humanities & social science : limited to 4 subjects on the 1st period.
D. When you register for the retake courses on the Academic system, you must obtain the course professor’s approval online up to three days before end of the course add/drop period.
- Online course retake approval period: Course registration period and no later than 23:59 on Feb. 26(Tue), 2019 , three days before the end of the course add/drop period. Please be aware that if you fail to obtain approval by the deadline, your retake course registration will be cancelled automatically.
- Where the online course retake application has been denied by the course professor or automatically cancelled due to non-approval within the deadline: Students are requested to submit the ‘Course Add/Drop Application & Confirmation for Course Retake(Undergraduate)’ form to the Academic Registrar's Team (ART) during the course add/drop period.
