Gyun Min Lee
Provost Gyun Min Lee is a professor of biological sciences with administrative experiences in academic affairs and faculty relations. Provost Lee was responsible for faculty recruitment in the 2010-11 academic year as the dean of academic relations. Following the position, he served on the Faculty Council for two years from 2014 to 2016.
He joined the KAIST faculty in 1991 after earning his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at the University of Michigan, following his B.S. and M.S. degrees in the same discipline conferred by the Seoul National University.
From 2015 to 2020, he worked as a Scientific Director at the Section for CHO Cell Line Engineering, Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Biosustainability, DTU.
In 2021, he was appointed the KEPCO Chair professor. He served as the Dean of College of Life Science and Bioengineering from 2021 to 2023 and as the senior vice president for planning and budget from 2023 to 2024. Since 2024, he has been serving as the provost and executive senior vice president.
He has co-authored 259 research articles, currently serves as an Editorial Board Member for major biotechnology journals, and has served as an industrial consultant and collaborator to numerous biotechnology companies on CHO cell culture engineering for therapeutic protein production.
