Software that can detect obscene contents from the internet has been developed by a research team at KAIST. The research team used a signal-processing technique, Randon Transform, to create spectrograms of a variety of audio clips, which can screen any pornographic sounds from websites. This audio-based screening method solves technological limits presented by automatic image-analysis systems that have already been used to catch unwanted pornography. Bendable Graphene Batteries Take A Page From Gumby

Researchers at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) may be on the cusp of creating something special: Bendable batteries that could have better performance than their stiff, inflexible cousins.
Made from graphene, these batteries would do well paired up with the flexible OLED displays we’ve seen teased here and there in recent months.

South Koreans Develop High-Performance Software Router.
HPC Wire, covering news on computing software, hardware, networking, storage, tools and applications, published an article on the development of high-performance router by a KAIST research team.
The research team consisted of the Departments of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering, KAIST, presented PacketShader, a high-performance software router framework for general packet processing with Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) acceleration. PacketShader, the research team said, that exploits the massively-parallel processing power of GPU to address the CPU bottleneck in current software routers.
